    This Is My Life

I really like lists, so most of my posts from now on are going to have lists from now on.

anyways, recap on the past few weeks:
    • apush unit 1 test - i aced that :). the class average was thirty-something out of 60, but i got a 92%! awesome.
    • branding iron stuff (school newspaper)
    • homecoming (actually, that's today, not from a few weeks ago)
    • apush study group - yeah, apsuh is HELL. the average grade n my class is a D.
    • ib art stuff: printing t-shirts. that was kinda fun
    • before i forget, here's my schedule for this year:
    - 1) ib (ib is short for international baccalaureate) bio
    - 2) rop (regional occupational program) video broadcasting
    - 3) spanish 4
    - 4) english 11 H
    - 5) apush a.k.a. HELL
    - 6) ib art
    - 7) ap statistics
    • lots of almost all-nighters (1 to 2 hours of sleep)
    • House is back on! :)
    • Breaking Benjamin released a new album: Dear Agony
    • Three Days Grace released a new album: Life Starts Now
    • learning how to play "time of your life" by green day on my guitar
    • trying to balance life and school (it's all because if IB); to get a better picture of what the ib program is like, here are some quotes from ibquotes.com:

    ---

    (1) This is IB, you may pick 2 of the following:
    1. Good Grades
    2. Enough Sleep
    3. A Social Life

    (2) teacher to students: now write your name on this notecard.

    Student 1: OK
    Student 2: This is easy!

IB Teacher to IB students: now write your name on this notecard

    IB Student 1: how big?
    IB Student 2: which corner?
IB Student 3: cursive or print?
IB Student 4: do we need to put our whole middle name or just our middle initial?
IB Student 5: What if we don't have a middle name?
IB Student 6: Is pencil okay?
IB Student 7: Do you want it on the side with lines or the blank side?

and we are wondering why IB is so hard

    (3) If you are in IB and you ever find yourself without any homework to do one evening then one of the following events must be true:

    1. You're forgetting something.
    2. Something is wrong with your planner.
    3. You're about to wake up in a few minutes.

    ok. changing topics now:

"The Cold Within" by James Patrick Kinney

    Six humans trapped by happenstance
    In black and bitter cold.
Each possessed a stick of wood,
    Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
The first woman held hers back
For on the faces around the fire
    She noticed one was black.

The next man looking 'cross the way
Saw one not of his church
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
He gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use
    To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned
    From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from his sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group
    Did naught except for gain,
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's stilled hands
    Was proof of human sin,
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from the cold within.

    ---

yeah. deep. that's how i felt too.

    Freedom

"The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
    So true in today's society...

    All in All

    All in all, my life:

    • is pretty cool because of my friends. they really make life worth living.

    • sucks because of these hot summer days (and nights).

    • is awesome because of my duck collection... yes, ducks (they're rubber ducks, not real ones). especially my light up rave duck from lily.

    • is chaotic because of ib... no jk. i love ib. it's my life. haha. funny site about ib people: http://www.purpleslinky.com/Jokes/The-You-Might-be-an-IB-Student-If-List.80834.

    • is super awesome because of lily's cheerios and blueberries.

is ok, i guess. at least i'm not dead... yet.

these are just some random thoughts that popped into my mind - a glimpse into my life.

About Me

  • I can feel it - the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, the entire planet is hurtling around the Sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go... Now forget me... Go home...
